County-wide burn ban has been rescinded
Posted on 09/09/2020
Scott County EMA logoUpdate Sept. 9, 2020 — The Countywide Burn Ban has been rescinded for Scott County, Iowa.

The Scott County Emergency Management Agency, in conjunction with the local fire chiefs and the State Fire Marshall’s Office, has determined that the dangers with open burning have been reduced enough to lift the current burn ban.

However, we would still encourage all residents within Scott County to use caution during any open burning.

Current conditions & concerns:
Reports of 5 (+/-) inches of rain have fallen over the last 2-3 days.
Even with this rain, there could be areas where the ground may be below normal for moisture within the soils, or with the surrounding vegetation.

In pursuant to Iowa Code 100.40(1) (1995), the Burn Ban has been rescinded as of 09/09/2020 at 12:00 pm for all of Scott County, Iowa.

The National Weather Service has predictions for rain continuing off and on over the next couple of days, but we could enter into another dry weather pattern after that time. Please use caution when burning.

Davenport residents may call 563-326-7904 for the City's burn/no burn schedule.
