Davenport Public Library is a Tier 3 library, meeting 51 standards set by the State of Iowa Library that cover staff training, maintaining collections, electronic presence, programs and public relations.
The biggest benefit of accreditation is excellent library services provided to Davenport residents. The library can also receive Direct State Aid – which for Davenport was about $18,000 in the last fiscal year. Accreditation also allows Davenport to participate in the Open Access reimbursement program through the State Library which provides additional funding every year.
