Meet the Park Ambassadors

(May 21, 2026) The Davenport Parks and Recreation Department is introducing its new Park Ambassadors program, an initiative aimed at making parks even more fun and welcoming for the community.

This season, Park Ambassadors are visiting parks, trails, and public spaces throughout Davenport as a friendly, visible presence. Park Ambassadors will help answer programming questions, engage park visitors with activities and games, and keep an eye out for maintenance or safety concerns that need attention. Overall, Park Ambassadors will work closely with other city staff to help keep parks looking their best and running smoothly.

“Our parks are where people gather, relax, exercise, and spend time together,” said Chad Dyson, Parks and Recreation Director. “This program is about being proactive, responsive, and creating positive experiences for everyone who uses our parks.”

The Davenport Parks and Recreation team operates and maintains over 3,600 acres of parks, plus approximately 25 miles of recreational trails. The Park Ambassadors program is part of the City’s ongoing effort to care for public spaces and respond more quickly to issues across the park system. Park visitors can identify Park Ambassadors by their AmeriCorps badge and high visibility vests or shirts.
