Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is the largest Division within the Davenport Police Department.  The Patrol Division is under the command of Captain Greg Behning.  The Division is comprised of the majority of the uniformed officers working in the City.  There are three patrol shifts, each commanded by a lieutenant.  Each shift has five sergeants.  The Patrol Division is staffed by a total of 65 police officers and corporals.  Patrol Officers are responsible for patrolling the 72 square miles of Davenport, including 500 miles of city streets, and responding to calls for service from the over 100,000 residents of the City.

Patrol Division personnel are the first responders to all calls for service.  They rely on a high standard of professionalism, a strong ongoing training program, and a high level of dedication to duty to accomplish their mission of service.

K-9 Unit

The Davenport Police Department has three full-time K-9 officers.  All officers are assigned to the Patrol Division. The K-9's live and work with their handlers. K-9 handlers are equipped with a personally assigned police vehicle,  equipment for their K-9 and training necessary to keep their K-9 at peak efficiency. The K-9's are used to detect drugs, search buildings, track people and control crowds.

Lieutenant Jonathon Douglas currently serves as the K-9 Unit Supervisor.
