Volunteering

volunteer with us!

Looking for a way of giving back to your community? Davenport Parks and Recreation offers a variety of opportunities to get involved. Assist at a community event; aid in sprucing up a public space; lend a hand in building the holiday displays!

Why should you volunteer?

People volunteer for many reasons, such as giving back to their community, gaining new skills, socializing, making connections, or simply because it is rewarding to help others.  Volunteering can also provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment, contributing to personal growth and well-being.

Volunteering in parks and recreation allows a person to contribute directly to the maintenance and enhancement of public spaces that everyone can enjoy and appreciate.  It fosters a sense of stewardship for the environment and promotes community engagement.

Volunteering in parks and recreation provides opportunities for physical activity, social interaction, and learning about nature and conservation.
