Movies in the Park

Back by popular demand - Davenport Parks and Recreation are excited to present FREE Movies in the Park! Grab your lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic to enjoy a family-friendly evening under the stars. Food sales and free activities will begin at 6PM; movie begins at sunset. No registration required.

NEW! Picnic in the Park

Consider this your monthly invitation to the city’s largest picnic!  This picnic is a meeting ground for people to get together and break bread in the community.  You provide the food and blanket.  We’ll provide the time and place.  There will even be a few surprises.

Every third Saturday Fejervary Learning Center will host free family activities. Each day will have a special theme to make each one different and unique. We will be hosting family activities, local vendors, nature crafts, and more!

Get Out And Trail (GOAT)

Bike, hike, walk, or roll; it doesn't matter how, just Get Out And Trail!

Explore QC trails with family and friends! Travel the trails on both sides of the Mississippi and drop by hosted GOAT Stops for refreshments and activities. This is a pet-friendly event, so we encourage you to bring your pets (leashed) out on the trails too! No registration required.

Letters to the North Pole

From November 30 through December 15, kids of all ages can drop off Letters to the North Pole at The River’s Edge, Fejervary Learning Center and Vander Veer Conservatory. It’s as easy as writing a letter, dropping it off and watching your mailbox for a letter from one of Santa’s helpers.

  • The River’s Edge, 700 W. River Dr.
  • Fejervary Learning Center, 1800 W. 12th St.

Fejervary Holiday Lights Show

Join us for seasonal holiday lights display at Fejervary Learning Center! This year's show will be BIGGER and BRIGHTER than ever before! Shows last approximately 15 minutes with a new show starting every 30 minutes beginning at 5:00 p.m.; the last show starts at 9:30 p.m. This is a park and watch event, not a drive or walk-through event.

Directions: Enter on West 12th Street and follow the directional signs. Attendees may park at the listed locations. Accessible parking is labeled and located directly across from the learning center. Exit by following the loop around the west side of the learning center.

Radio broadcast: Tune-in to  FM 107.5 to sync with the holiday lights music broadcast.

Warning: This show may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.


 

 

 

Vander Veer Poinsettia & Lights

The annual holiday spectacular featuring countless poinsettias, a multitude of lights, and extended Saturday evening hours. The Great Poinsettia Give-Away will be back in 2025! 

Beginning Saturday, 11/30 through Sunday, 01/12 (closed Mondays) | Self-guided tour through park and Conservatory.

Holiday Conservatory Hours:
Normal Operating Hours: Tuesday-Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Closed on Mondays)
Special Extended Evening Hours: Saturdays, 11/30, 12/7, 12/14 and 12/21 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Early Closures: Tuesdays, 12/24 and 12/31 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Closures: Monday-Friday, 11/25-11/29  |  Wednesdays-Thursdays, 12/25-12/26 and 1/1-1/2

Admission:
Admission is free. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Vander Veer Botanical Park itself, is open daily from sunrise until one half-hour after sunset. Vehicle entrances are off Central Park Avenue.

 

 

 

 

 

CANCELLED: Howl-O-Ween in the Park

UPDATE: Due to an increase in Scott County, and specifically Davenport, of confirmed positive Parvo cases this event has been cancelled for this year. 

This event is for our furry four-legged friends.  Gather your whole pack and dress up in your best costumes.  There will be vendors, informational booths, and rescue organizations will be on-site showcasing their goods and services.  There will be costume contests and treats to enjoy! Remember this is a fun activity for you and your dog, NOT a competition.

  • All dogs must be well-controlled on no longer than a 6ft leash. No retractable leashes, please.
  • All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations.
  • Keep a safe distance between dogs while trick or treating to avoid a possible fight over treats.

Donations are encouraged for and go to the Humane Society of Scott County to help the lost and homeless pets of our community.
