2025 Themed Public Skates @ Rivers Edge (NEW)

Head to The River's Edge and join the fun for themed public skate sessions! 

The River's Edge | 700 W River Drive
All ages (children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult over 18)
Admission: $6 (plus tax) | Skate Rental: $3.50
*Swiftie Skate admission: $13 (plus tax) - includes skate rental


Mascot Skate
Saturday, February 22 | 2-4PM
The River’s Edge is hosting area special guests from around the area. During public skate, enjoy local favorites at the concessions, get selfies with area mascots, and make fun crafts with the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team attire.

Bunny Skate
Saturday, April 19 | 2-4PM
The River’s Edge is hosting a special guest just in time for the holiday. Bunny Skate during public skate, enjoy holiday treats at concessions, egg hunt, and make fun holiday crafts with the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday attire (e.g., fancy holiday sweater, fun scarves and mittens, headbands or themed costume).

Take Me Out to the Ballgame Skate
Saturday, June 21 | 2-4PM
The River’s Edge is hosting area special guests from around the area. During public skate, enjoy local favorites at the concessions and make fun crafts with the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities all before heading to the ballpark to take in a baseball game. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team attire.

Back to School Skate
Saturday, August 23 | 2-4PM
Come show off your best Back to School outfit and shake of the back to school blues at The River’s Edge. During public skate, enjoy local favorites at the concessions, take last chance selfies before your summer glow fades, and make fun crafts with the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities.

Monster Mash Glow Skate
Saturday, October 25 | 2-4PM
Get ready for a monster-themed skating event! Join us at River’s Edge for a spooktacular night filled with creepy beats, fun treats, and eerie crafts with the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities. Skates on dressed in your best skate-friendly costumes and ready to groove to undead tunes with your favorite monsters. Don’t miss the Monster Mash Glow Skate during public skating, glowing party lights, and plenty of frightful fun. Dress up, bring your spooky spirit, and join us if you dare!

Swiftie Skate
Saturday, December 13 | 5-7PM | Admission is $13 per person
*Please note, this is a specialty skate outside of normal public skate sessions.

Calling all the Swifties! Grab your groupies and have your own Eras Tour on the ice. We are in our skating era. All Taylor! All Night! Get your pic with Taylor! Play Taylor Swift lyric trivia! With a playlist catering to Taylor Swift fans, our session is designed to keep everyone moving and grooving. From beginners to seasoned skaters, our rink is open to all. Elevate your evening with a bracelet making and the perfect soundtrack. Enjoy an hour and a half of skating with other Swifties with the uninterrupted best songs the iconic performer has to offer. The concessions will be offering a Swiftie Special inspired basket based on Taylor's favorites.

Skate with Santa
Saturday, December 20 | 2-4PM
Grab your favorite holiday attire or ugly holiday sweater and your ice skates to head over to The River's Edge  to Skate with Santa! Off ice you can enjoy fun holiday crafts with the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities, tasty treats from Concessions, or snap a selfie at the holiday backdrop in the lobby!

New Year's Eve Glow Skate
Wednesday, December 31 | 11AM-1PM
Are you ready to party like it’s 2026? Can’t stay up ‘til midnight? We've got you covered! Countdown to Noon with a ball drop, face painting and noisemakers. Enjoy crafts and activities for all ages too with the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities. Don’t miss this family tradition as you ring in the New Year. Ring in the NOON Year with glow skating under the party lights! Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday attire.

 Doggie Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 26 | 12-2PM
Calling all dogs to our second annual Doggie Egg Hunt and Vendor Showcase where you can browse, learn, and play. Local pet related businesses will be showcasing their goods and services (and offering a few freebies and coupons) for pets and owners alike to enjoy plenty of fun activities including pet grooming, professional photos, paw painting, toy crafts making, treat making, food (including some dog friendly snacks), and drinks before or after the Doggie Easter Egg Hunt. Informational booths, vendors, and animal rescue organizations will be on hand also to give away free goodies as well as encourage better health and the wellbeing of our pup population. Free microchipping will be offered by the Humane Society of Scott County and Quad City Animal Welfare Center. Don’t forget to catch a photo op with the Easter Bunny!!

Pawp-up Pup Park

*Please note, these events take place at Duck Creek Park (Tuesdays) and Prairie Heights Park (Thursdays) alternately.
We are popping up for a series of two-hour temporary dog parks at Duck Creek Park and Prairie Heights Park! 

Paws in the Park

Let's embark on a new adventure together! Bring your dog out for an adventure at Centennial Dog Park. This meet-and-greet atmosphere during a dog-friendly event brings dog families together with fun activities your pets will enjoy. Visits from vendors and demonstrations are also expected.

Puppy Cool Down

What dog doesn't like to play in water on a hot day? Bring your dog out to play with other dog friends and in a little bit of water at Centennial Park with Davenport Parks and Recreation. This meet-and-greet atmosphere during a dog-friendly event brings dog families together with fun activities your pets will enjoy. Visits from vendors and demonstrations are also expected.


Dogs Day in the Park

Dogs deserve a day in the park to play too. Bring your dog out to play at Centennial Dog Park with Davenport Parks and Recreation. This meet-and-greet atmosphere during a dog-friendly event brings dog families together with fun activities your pets will enjoy. Visits from vendors and demonstrations are also expected.

Howl-o-Ween in the Park

Calling all dogs to our first Howl-o-ween in the Park and Vendor Showcase where you can browse, learn, and play. Santa Paws Walk

*Please note, this event takes place at Credit Island Park
The Santa Paws Walk is a pet-friendly non-competitive walk allowing you and your canine to stroll around Credit Island Park. Event includes but not limited to a fun pet contest, photos of your pet and family with Santa, a raffle, great photo opportunities and great vendors.

Those who participated in the Tails & Trails Club with a goal of completing at least 20 walks will receive a certificate of completion and an opportunity to win additional prizes.

Davenport Recreation Trails | River front, Duck Creek, Goose Creek, Sunderbruch
Get a wiggle on for a fun at the Giddy-up Bike and Hike! Join us as we walking, running, pedal, and more along the Riverfront Recreation Trail in downtown Davenport on Sunday, May 18 from 9a.m. to noon. This enthusiastic event takes place along the Mississippi River, where participants will don their most creative version of the Duttons, Clampetts, Ewings, etc.
Gather along with fellow enthusiasts for a entertaining-filled day of laughter and merriment spirit. Participants are encouraged to decorate your ride and embrace the festive atmosphere as you explore the scenic route along Davenport. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a casual walker, this event promises to be a delightful experience for all ages. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled celebration—mark your calendar and prepare for a hilariously good time! This is a pet-friendly event, so we encourage you to bring your pets (leashed) out on the trails too! This event is free, and no registration is required.

Get Out and Trail (GOAT)

Quad City Area Recreation Trails and Beyond

Bike, hike, walk, or roll; it doesn't matter how, just Get Out And Trail (GOAT)!
Explore QC trails with family and friends! Travel the trails on both sides of the Mississippi and drop by hosted GOAT Stops for refreshments and activities. This is a pet-friendly event, so we encourage you to bring your pets (leashed) out on the trails too! No registration required.

Witches & Warlocks Ride (NEW!)

Davenport Riverfront Recreation Trails

Get ready for a spellbinding day of fun at the Witches & Warlocks Ride! Join us as we pedal along the Riverfront Recreation Trail in downtown Davenport on Sunday, October 5 from 9a.m. to noon. This enchanting event takes place along the Mississippi River, where participants will don their most creative witch and warlock costumes while riding their brooms - err, bicycles- along the picturesque riverfront.

Trunk, Treat & Trail (NEW!)

Davenport Riverfront Recreation Trails
Get ready for a thrilling good time at the Trunk, Treat & Trail event! Local government along with organizations, churches, and other groups will be providing a safe and fun event for children to collect treats as they walk along the Riverfront Recreation Trail between Centennial and LeClaire Parks in Davenport. Join us for a spooktacularly safe trick-or-treating experience, activities, and more. Gather with other hobgoblins, ghosts, pirates and princesses from 2-5p.m. on Saturday, October 18. Whether you're a seasoned trick-r-treater or new to the hunt, this event promises to be a delightful experience for all ages. Put on your costumes and haunt your way the Mississippi River, as laughter and fun fill the air. Let your inner monster shine, with colorful costumes on that will leave you howling with delight.

Calling all Swifties! Get ready for an unforgettable Taylor Swift themed pool party. Enjoy the waterpark amenities such as zero-depth entry pool with children’s play features, winding-open tube/flume slide, drop slide, diving board, and more while enjoying Taylor’s greatest hits. Each guest will receive a Taylor Swift Inspired Bracelets upon exit. Don’t miss out of this amazing pool party.

Movie in the Park

Movie in the Park is back again for 2025.  New this year, we are hosting the movie drive-in style! Be on the look out for a movie poll to help us choose which movie we will show.
Grab your lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic to enjoy a family-friendly evening under the stars. Food sales and free activities will begin at 6PM; movie begins at sunset. No registration required.

Harvest Festival

Fall harvest season brings a host of family-friendly activities and unique must dos, including Harvest Fest at the Fejervary Learning Center. This free family-friendly event includes activities the everyone will enjoy. There will be local vendors, nature crafts, and more!

 

YouthFest (NEW DATE!)

Explore the natural play features while enjoying music and visiting with multiple vendors promoting fun-filled summer activities! YouthFest is a yearly celebration sponsored by Davenport Parks and Recreation and Davenport Community Schools to encourage youth involvement in constructive summer activities. Participants will enjoy hands-on games, activities, and interactive displays. End the day cooling off at Fejervary Pool - general admission prices apply for the pool.
