Jersey Ridge Rd has re-opened between George Washington Blvd and Central Park Ave. Expect periodic lane reductions through the next two weeks for work on ADA ramps.

Resurfacing work on Jersey Ridge Rd between George Washington Blvd and Central Park Ave will begin Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Jersey Ridge Rd will be closed. The work is expected to be complete by Tuesday, September 8. If work cannot be completed in this time frame, the contractor will re-open the roadway to two-way traffic during that week, and will return to finish the work on Saturday, September 12th.
Local traffic will be maintained during construction. All non-local traffic are encouraged to follow the signed detour, not residential streets to bypass the closure.
Work to update ADA curb ramps has already started.

Work on the water main on Jersey Ridge Rd between Garfield and George Washington will be complete later in the week of July 27. Resurfacing work is anticipated to begin shortly after that. Stay on tuned for news on this area as travel restrictions will be changing again. Keep your eye on the prize as water and road infrastructure are improved.

Jersey Ridge Rd between Garfield and George Washington re-opened earlier in the week, however, will be detoured again when the road re-closes at Columbia beginning Tuesday, July 21 through Monday, July 27. Traffic restrictions will continue through through August as work transitions from the water main to street resurfacing. Look for updates later in the month.

Water main improvements will close Jersey Ridge Rd between Garfield and George Washington beginning Tuesday, July 7 through Tuesday, July 14. Watch for more traffic control changes in the coming weeks as IowaAmerican Water Company and the City continue to modernize the city’s water service and street network. Resurfacing work will begin when water main improvements are complete.

Jersey Ridge Rd will be closed between E 29th and Garfield on Wednesday, June 3rd, and Thursday, June 4th, for water main installation. On June 5th, the area will return to one lane of travel in each direction as IowaAmerican Water Company continues its water main installation in the area.

Starting Wednesday, May 20th there will be lane reductions on Jersey Ridge Rd between Central Park and George Washington Blvd for back-to-back projects that will install a new water main, followed by resurfacing.
The initial lane reductions will be in place for new water main installation. The installation is estimated to be complete by mid-July. Once complete, resurfacing will begin.
Pending weather and subsurface conditions, the entire stretch should re-open sometime in August.
Expect lane reductions with changing traffic control through August. Slow down and observe traffic control when driving through this work zone. Consider taking an alternate route.
