The intersection of 2nd and Marquette is open! While work will continue through the fall on 2nd St sewer main and pavement improvements, the re-opening of this critical intersection should come as welcoming news to those impacted by other area detours.

Subsurface conditions have challenged the aggressive timeline on the W 2nd St/Rockingham sewer main replacement project. Expect the intersection of W 2nd St and Marquette to re-open later in July. As work progresses, expect Fillmore to close between 2nd and 3rd St beginning Monday, July 20th. A lane reduction will also be necessary on 3rd St at the intersection of Fillmore for related sewer work. Look for more updates later this month or early August.

Work on the 2nd St sewer main was delayed slightly. Expect the intersection of Marquette and 2nd St to close early the week of May 18th. The intersection will remain closed through mid-to-late June for sanitary and storm improvements.
04/30/20
Starting the week of May 4th, W 2nd St will be closed between Marquette and Fillmore to start the process of replacing the sewer main that runs under 2nd St. As part of the project the intersection of 2nd and Marquette will also be closed through early June. Follow the signed detour.
Storm sewer improvements will also be performed as part of this project.
All work is tentatively scheduled for completion in October 2020.
Please be patient as we continue to modernize the city’s sewer system.
