Approval of FY23 Budget Sets More Infrastructure Projects in Motion

Davenport’s City Council took another significant step toward improved infrastructure with the setting of the public hearing to adopt the City’s FY23 budget on Wednesday, March 17, 2022. With budget approval on Wednesday, March 23, Council action continues to echo the community’s voice with increased investment in streets and sewers.

At a glance, approval of the budget provides for improvements to nine arterial streets, 55 neighborhood streets, nine alley repair projects, three flood resiliency projects, sewer lining and manhole repairs in the 2022/2023 construction season.  Additional sewer, trail, stormwater and facility improvements have also been set in motion.

Of the nine arterial streets, work will start on two of the roads soon: Phase II of E 53rd St, Eastern to Elmore Circle and Lombard, Harrison to Brady. Work is also planned for Division St between 13th and Locust Streets, Central Park from Cedar to Lincoln, Locust St between Clark and Michigan, Division at 76th St, 7th St between Iowa and LeClaire, LeClaire from 6th to 8th, and 2nd St from Harrison to the Arsenal Bridge.
