Beginning Monday, May 6, Tremont will be open to northbound travel only between 46th and 53rd Streets. The traffic change is for coordinated work by Iowa American Water Company and the City. Work will begin with the water main replacement by Iowa American, and be followed by reconstruction. The water main is estimated to take six to eight weeks to complete, and reconstruction is anticipated to take four months. Pending weather and subsurface conditions, the travel reduction is expected to last through October.
