Nov. 17, 2020 – The City Council will continue making financially responsible decisions this Council cycle when they consider an interest rate reduction on the Taxable Sewer Revenue Bond, Series 2010, which was issued to the Iowa Finance Authority back in 2010 to pay for construction improvements and extensions of the sanitary sewer system. The State Revolving Fund for Clean Water and Drinking Water Program (SRF Program) reduced its interest rate on all 20-year SRF loans to 1.75% several years ago. Due to the growth of the program and careful financial management, the reduced interest rate is being offered to all existing SRF loans that are at least 10 years old. The current interest rate is 3.00%.

The Main Library will receive a much-anticipated renovation, with Council awarding the contract to Swanson Construction of Bettendorf, IA at the November 10 meeting. This cycle, City Council will consider the purchase of new furnishings from Paragon Commercial Interiors of Davenport, IA to compliment the updated floor plan and layout.

Due to Thanksgiving, City Council will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. instead of Wednesday next week.
Pursuant to Executive Order 2020-19 issued by Mayor Matson on October 19, 2020, attendance by the general public at any City of Davenport public meeting within its facilities shall be limited to 10 persons, and masks are required to be worn in all City facilities.
