COVID-19 Cancellations, Closures, & Updates

Below are recent mitigation efforts the City of Davenport has put in place in response to the rising numbers of cases.

Parks and Recreation

Mask Use: Required at all indoor City facilities - They must be worn by all patrons at all times.  Athletes may remove them when they are entering the ice surface, coaches are required to wear them at all times.

All public park restrooms closed
Adjusted public skate at the River’s Edge
Spectators are currently allowed with varying limitations 

Learn to Skate:
2 spectators per athlete will be allowed
Programs on as scheduled

Soccer (turf events):
Rentals return in accordance with Governor's recent proclamation 
Adult and Youth Leagues will remain suspended until the start of the next league session (1/16/2021)
2 spectators per athlete will be allowed

Drop-In Events:
Public Skates will resume on a limited schedule with no rental skates available
Drop-In Hockey/Stick N Puck will remain suspended until January
Indoor Golf Range will delay the start of the winter schedule until 1/1/2021

Ice Sports:
Learn to Skate - 2 spectators per athlete
Figure Skating may resume as scheduled
All youth hockey may resume
Adult Hockey (Senior Hockey/Murray Hockey) may resume
The number of Hockey spectators allowed for each team will be 2 times the number of players, plus any minor children (under 18) (ex: 17 players = 34 spectators). NO EXCEPTIONS.
Coaches, scoreboard/scoresheet, music, and penalty box volunteers will not count towards spectator limit, as they are on the opposite side of the rink during game time.  Minor children will not count in the spectator total.

Davenport public library
Patrons will no longer be able to enter our buildings to browse for materials and must place holds on all items to pick-up by curbside (|Main |Eastern) and by drive-up window (|Fairmount).

Public computers can only be accessed by appointment. Please call (563) 326-7832 to reserve a time.
Special Collections can also be accessed by appointment only.

Please note, if you have a reservation for a computer or Special Collections, you must be on time. Anyone 10 minutes or later, will not be permitted into the building and will forfeit their reservation.
Public computers, Special Collections visits, scanning, faxing, and copying are by appointment only. Please call (563) 326-7832 to reserve a time.
Appointments for Wi-Fi use will not be available until further notice. 
All buildings will remain locked in between computer sessions.
The bookstores will be closed until further notice.

Police and Fire Departments

All of the following are still postponed/cancelled until further notice.

  • Explorer Program
  • Birthday Requests/Invites
  • Event Requests/Invites
  • Car Seat Check Events (DFD only)
Ground transportation center
All passengers are required to wear a mask or face covering when boarding and while riding the bus
Masks are required in the Ground Transportation Center. Mask Requirement Memorandum.
Patrons may not stay in the Ground Transportation Center for longer than 30 minutes
The maximum number of passengers on a bus is one person per row per side. That is approximately 12 to 14 people on the bus at one time. If a bus passes you at a stop, it is because the maximum number of riders has been reached. You will need to wait for the next bus in this case.
