Davenport dog parks designed for our four-legged friends to run leash-free while socializing with other dogs and humans. There are currently two dog park locations in Davenport. Stay tuned to this page or follow us on our socials for updates and announcements.

Hours of Operation
Both Dog Park locations are open sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
Please note: Centennial Dog Park is closed Thursdays 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. (approximately) for mowing crews  Mid-March through Mid-November.

For an enjoyable experience, please review these rules before you visit.

General Park Rules:

  • Use of off-leash area is owner’s risk.
  • Dog park is open from sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
  • No use of tobacco product including, but is not limited to, cigarettes, electronic smoking devices, cigarette tobacco, roll-your-own tobacco, smokeless tobacco, chewing tobacco and dissolvable tobacco in or outside of off-leash area or park (City Code 12.72.095). 
  • The following items are not allowed: toys, treats, or chewables of any kind; remote control vehicles; bicycles; skateboards; roller skates; strollers/baby carriers; or prong/spike collars.
  • Limit 3 dogs per owner/handler per visit.
  • Always stay on-leash outside of designated off-leash boundaries (City Code 6.04.060).
  • No animals other than dogs may be brought into the fenced area.
  • Make sure all gates are closed properly when entering and exiting.
  • Agility and obstacle equipment is for dog use only.
  • Do not allow your dog to dig or cause destruction.
  • In an emergency, or to report an actively aggressive dog uncontrolled by owner, call 9-1-1!

Dogs Must:

  • Demonstrate appropriate social interaction skills.
  • Be currently licensed, vaccinated and in good health.
  • Be over 4 months old.
  • Wearing a collar with ID tags at all times, displaying tags showing proof of current license and rabies vaccination.
  • Be on a leash until safely inside off-leash area.
  • Be altered (no dogs in heat or unaltered males).

Owners/Handlers Must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age. 
  • Pick up and dispose of dog’s waste (City Code 6.04.080).
  • Be with dog(s) inside off-leash area at all times to supervise dog(s) and keep them within view.
  • Carry a leash for EACH dog. 
  • Have voice control over dog(s).
  • Leash and immediately remove dog(s) at first display of aggressive behavior toward people or other dogs.
  • Accept responsibility for any damage or injury caused by dog(s). 
  • Closely supervise young children.

Animal Control  | The Humane Society of Scott County responds to reports of animals running at large, abuse and neglect.  Animal control officers enforce laws set forth by the State of Iowa and/or City of Davenport ordinances.  

Animal Running At Large   | Please call the Humane Society of Scott County Animal Control at 563-388-6655 to report pets running at large. Please have available the nearest crossroad and direction the animal is heading to assist responding officers as we work to safely contain the animal.

Bite Reports, Abuse & Neglect | Please call the Humane Society of Scott County Animal Control at 563-388-6655 immediately if you have been a part of an animal bite, or witness abuse and neglect.

Dog & Cat Licenses | The City of Davenport requires all dogs and cats within city limits be licensed.  The Humane Society of Scott County issues dog and cat licenses on behalf of the City of Davenport. 

Pet owners must purchase a license within thirty days of the date the pet is initially inoculated for rabies and annually within thirty days’ time of the date of the current rabies vaccination.  Verification of a current rabies vaccination signed and administered by a licensed veterinarian is required as part of the license application.
